Carl Dunst letter of support to the Vancouver Sun

BC Families to Lose Long Time Child Advocate

The Ministry of Children and Family Development recently announced plans not to renew a contract to fund the Office of Provincial Advisor of the BC Infant Development Program that provides vital resources to infants and toddlers with disabilities and delays and their families throughout the Province. Dana Brynelsen, who heads the Office, has been a long standing advocate for young children and their families for more than 35 years. The loss of her leadership and untiring advocacy on behalf of thousands and thousands of BCs youngest and most vulnerable citizens would be harmful and detrimental to the betterment of these children. The families currently served by the Infant Development Program and those who benefited from this program in the past should stand up and have their voices heard to have the Ministry’s plan reversed. As a long time supporter of the Infant Development Program in BC, I urge Minister Polak to reconsider her plans to not continue funding the Office of Provincial Advisor.
